Public Transport at Tariq Road

Tariq Road is undeniably one of Karachi’s most famous and vibrant commercial arteries, situated in the heart of the Pakistan Employees Cooperative Housing Society (PECHS). When the area was first developed in the late 1950s, it was actually a quiet, upscale residential neighborhood characterized by sprawling palatial houses and manicured gardens. Over the decades, it rapidly transformed into a bustling retail epicenter, completely replacing its residential roots with thousands of shops, boutiques, and commercial plazas.

Today, Tariq Road is a massive transit and shopping destination, heavily traversed by daily commuters and numerous bus routes. It serves as a vital corridor connecting Shahrah-e-Quaideen to Bahadurabad. The street is also deeply woven into Pakistan’s modern retail history; in the year 2000, it became the site of Dolmen Mall, one of the country's very first purpose-built, modern indoor shopping malls, revolutionizing the city's commercial landscape forever.
