Public Transport at Gulshan Chowrangi

Gulshan Chowrangi is a highly active intersection and transit point located in the heart of Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Established in 1966 under the Karachi Development Authority's Scheme 24, the wider neighborhood was named the "Garden of Iqbal" in honor of Pakistan’s national poet, Allama Muhammad Iqbal. As the area rapidly developed into a massive residential and commercial hub, Gulshan Chowrangi emerged as a crucial traffic and commuter node, connecting surrounding neighborhoods to Main University Road.

Beyond its importance to daily commuters and numerous bus routes, the intersection holds a unique place in Karachi's urban history. In May 2017, it became the site of an innovative public health initiative when the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) launched a mobile hospital directly underneath the Gulshan Chowrangi flyover. This creative use of urban infrastructure turned a standard transit stop into a life-saving medical waypoint for the community.
